Hi! I'm Cat. I live in Chicago with my husband and our cat, Billy. I've been deeply immersed in the plant hobby for years now and currently have a relatively small collection of 55 houseplants (though at one point it peaked at over 150). Along with my houseplants, I'm also currently nurturing a frankly ridiculous number of flower and vegetable seedlings, considering I have a small balcony and a tiny shared patch of backyard space in the city.

This is my 5th year growing houseplants, my 4th year maintaining a balcony container garden, and my 3rd year starting plants from seed. In 2025, I finally claimed my own spot in a shared backyard and got my first raised bed, so I will be planting at (kinda) ground level for the first time!

I love experimenting with different propagation and cultivation methods. The adaptability and resilience of plants never fails to surprise me. My phone is overloaded with years' worth of plant progress photos, including some truly miraculous recoveries, and my goal is to upload the best ones here for you to enjoy, judge—even hopefully learn something from.
